Chess Wizards offers a safe, fun, and friendly environment for kids grades K-5, or ages 5-12, to learn how to play and compete in chess. Their mission is to inspire lifelong learning, both on and off the chess board as well as build relationships and communities connected through the game of chess. Kids will experience an interactive curriculum for beginners all the way up to experienced chess players.

This initial offering will have an eight-week program with class every Friday, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM, from May 3 through June 28, except May 24 due to the Memorial Day holiday.

Chess Wizards is one of the nation’s premier chess education companies. The interactive, discovery-based curriculum inspires students to think ahead, visualize their goals, treat others with respect and to learn from mistakes. The classes are geared to suit children of all skill levels; from chessling to checkmate artist, students will build upon their knowledge through lessons, tournaments, variation games and more! More than just a game of winning and losing, we make learning chess fun!

There will be a weeklong summer chess camp from August 19 through August 23, offered at half-day and full-day increments. Half-day is 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM. Full-day is 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Chess Wizards offers weeklong camps for children through an interactive day-camp format that includes all kinds of activities to keep kids both physically and mentally engaged. Team chess games, puzzles, skill-building, and team and individual physical games are just some of the camp activities. A day might include exploration of a technical chess concept, fun group challenges, a healthy snack, a mini-tournament, capture-the-flag, and blob tag.
