Join Tewksbury Public Library as we face off against 20 other public libraries across Massachusetts in a new reading challenge this March!

Minute Madness is an all ages bracket-style reading competition between 21 libraries in Massachusetts. Starting March 1st, log your reading as Team Tewksbury fights for a spot in the Minute Madness Championship. Each week we will read head-to-head against libraries across the state.

Each week libraries report their minutes to see who will move forward during the fiveweek bracket. Every minute counts and we need your help to stay in the game and move forward to the Minute Madness Championship round! Team Tewksbury logged over 1.6 million minutes during the Reading Rivals 2022 reading challenge versus Wilmington Memorial Library last fall so we know we can put up a good fight this spring! Below are some frequently asked questions to help you get started:

How do I sign up?

To sign up, patrons of all ages have a few options to participate in the Minute Madness reading challenge this year:

  1. Download the Beanstack app from the Apple or Google Play store and create an account using your email address. Join the Minute Madness 2023 challenge from the Tewksbury Public Library Beanstack homepage. If you've signed up for Beanstack previously, you can use your existing account to enter this challenge. If you've forgotten your Beanstack password, you can reset it online or in the app.
  2. Not using a smartphone? Visit tewksburypl.beanstack.org on your computer to register.
  3. Paper logs are available at each service desk and can be printed at tewksburypl.org.

What counts as time spent reading?

We define reading as listening to audiobooks, reading a physical book (magazine, newspaper, article, graphic novel, and manga count too) or being read to. Being read to can be logged by both the reader and by the listener. If you read it, track it!

Are there prizes for logging minutes?

For immediate release  February 22, 2023  Tewksbury Public Library  Tewksbury, MA.

There are no prizes for Minute Madness 2023, just the fun of joining together as a community to compete with other communities all across the state!

How can I keep track of the Minute Madness leaderboard?

Follow along all competition at tewksburypl.org, @TewksburyLib on social media, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and weekly score updates on Wednesdays with the TPL newsletter. Sign up for the newsletter at tewksburypl.org.

Are there more reading challenges I can join on Beanstack?

Yes! Are you looking for more fun ways to log what and how often you read? TPL currently has two other reading challenges happening this March, including the all ages Iditaread, and the 2023 Adult Reading Challenge. Check out our Beanstack homepage at tewksburypl.beanstack.org to sign up for these challenges. Stay tuned for more information on this year's Summer Reading challenge and the return of Reading Rivals, our annual competition with Wilmington Memorial Library where we'll defend the Reading Trophy!
