Geographic Information System (GIS)

A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a computer mapping system combining a database linked with mapped features. This system captures, stores, checks, integrates, manipulates, analyzes, and displays data related to positions on the Earth's surface. GIS allows us to understand, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps, reports, and charts.

The Town of Tewksbury has continued to work on the ongoing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program.
