Advisory: MassDOT Paving Operations in Tewksbury

Overnight Work Starting this Week along a Section of Route 38

TEWKSBURY – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced that it will conduct overnight paving operations along a section of Route 38 in Tewksbury from the Wilmington Town Line to the intersection of South Street/Salem Road beginning Friday, July 7, and continuing for approximately two weeks. In order to allow crews to safely and effectively conduct these operations, short-term temporary lane closures will be necessary during these operations.

The full scope of work for these operations consists of pavement milling and resurfacing, cleaning, repairing, and adjusting drainage structures and placing pavement markings and the estimated cost of the work is $350,000.

The majority of these operations are expected to occur during overnight hours in order to minimize the impact on the traveling public and local communities.  Minor work-related activities may take place during the day during off peak periods.

Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should be mindful of potential delays, reduce speed, and use caution. All scheduled work is weather dependent and subject to change without notice.
