Tewksbury Water and Sewer Bill Calculator

How often will I receive a Water and/or Sewer bill and how is it calculated?

Currently, Water and/or Sewer bills are issued twice a year approximately around March and September and are charged on a fiscal year (July 1st - June 30th) basis.

For example, if your usage is 50,000 gallons for the summer billing period, you will be charged 34,000 gallons based on the first tier rate and 16,000 gallons based on the second tier rate. Then, for the winter billing period, if your usage is 40,000 gallons, you will be charged 20,000 gallons based on the second tier rate and 20,000 gallons based on the third tier rate. For the next summer bill, your water usage will be charged beginning in the first tier.

Your Water and/or Sewer bill is calculated on actual water usage and billed on the following basis:

How much will my Water and/or Sewer bill be?

Instructions:

-If you are calculating your summer bill, just enter your usage for the summer billing period. If your water usage is 0, put 0 in the box.

-If you are calculating your winter bill, you must enter your usage for the previous summer billing period to get an accurate calculation of your winter bill. If your water usage is 0, put 0 in the box.

This is an estimation of your bill and it does not take into account any outstanding balances. In addition, not all residents are on Sewer and this calculation does not include Secondary Water Metering.
If the property is connected to Town sewer and is not located in the Town of Tewksbury or is tax exempt, the sewer rates above do not apply; a higher rate applies. (In the Special Town Meeting held on May 4, 2011 the Townspeople voted to authorize the Board of Selectman to submit a Home Rule Petition to the General Courth of Massachusetts to enact a special act which would allow the Town to shift 50% of the sewer debt to the tax levy. Given that properties not located in Tewksbury and tax exempt properties would not be impacted by the 50% shift, the higher rate is calculated using the cost to operate the sewer enterprise with 100% of the debt.)
